About LEOSA Locations

LEOSA Locations is a community-driven database built by law enforcement officers, for active and retired law enforcement officers. Our mission is simple: help qualified officers know before they carry.

The Law Enforcement Officers Safety Act (LEOSA) authorizes qualified active and retired officers to carry a concealed firearm in any jurisdiction in the United States, with certain exceptions. In practice, navigating those exceptions, including courthouses, hospitals, airports, sports venues, and private businesses, requires real-world knowledge that is difficult to find in one place.

This site fills that gap. Officers submit locations they have personally visited, report the carry status they experienced, and log check-ins to confirm or dispute what others have reported. Every entry is attributed to an agency, never a name, to protect the privacy of contributing officers.

Access & Verification

Access to the database requires registration and manual review by our administrators. Active officers register with an official law enforcement agency email address. This process exists to ensure the integrity of the community and the safety of contributing officers.

Retired officers can sign up now. Verification needs an agency-issued retired photo ID, a firearms qualification record from the last 12 months, and a live selfie captured in the browser. Verification is valid for 12 months, then you verify again. Every account is manually reviewed. Retired officer access is new and in beta. LEOSA Locations was built by and for active officers, so you may hit rough edges. Please report anything odd through the Feedback page (leosalocations.com/feedback) or the feedback option in the iOS app. The first 200 retired members are free for life. After that, retired membership is $10 a year, charged only after your credentials are approved. Active officers are always free.

Military law enforcement cannot be verified from a .mil address yet, because that address only confirms service membership, not a law enforcement assignment. Verification is in development, and you can join the military law enforcement waitlist to be told when it is ready.

The iOS App

LEOSA Locations is also available as a native app on the App Store. It uses the same account as the website, so a lookup from the field or a report you submit shows up in both places.

Protective details

Local, state, and federal protective details use the database for advance work at arenas, stadiums, courthouses, and federal facilities, pulling venue security contacts and carry status before a principal arrives. Learn more about the protective details resource.
