Who can join LEOSA Locations?
Active and retired law enforcement officers who qualify under LEOSA. Active officers sign up with an official agency-issued email address. Retired officers sign up with a retired credential and a live selfie. An administrator manually reviews every application.
I am retired, or in military law enforcement. Can I join?
Retired officers can sign up now at leosalocations.com/signup. You will need an agency-issued retired photo ID, a firearms qualification record from the last 12 months, and a live selfie taken in your browser. Verification is valid for 12 months, then you verify again. Retired access is in beta; please report bugs through the Feedback page (leosalocations.com/feedback). Military law enforcement access is still in development, since a .mil address alone cannot confirm a law enforcement assignment. Is it free?
Yes for active officers, always. The first 200 retired members are free for life. After that, retired membership is $10 a year, charged only after your credentials are approved.
Do I have to upload my badge or credentials?
It depends on your status. Active officers are never asked for badge photos or credential uploads. Retired officers upload their retired credential, a qualification record, and a live selfie, held only while their verification is valid and then purged. An administrator manually reviews every application.
Will other officers see my name?
No. Contributions are attributed to your agency only, never your name. Protecting the identity of contributing officers is a core design principle of the site.
How accurate is the information?
Every report comes from an officer who visited the facility, and other officers can confirm or dispute it with votes and check-ins. That said, policies change. Always verify directly with a facility before carrying. Nothing on this site is legal advice.
How long does approval take?
Review typically completes within 1 to 2 business days. You will receive an email once you are approved.
